Inside mounted blinds are mounted inside the window casing for a more finished look, especially for windows with attractive molding.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                       Outside mounted blinds are mounted on the wall or molding outside the window casing and cover an area larger than the window itself. Outside mounting requires at least 2” of flat space above the window casing for proper installation of the brackets (see step 3) and approximately 2" of overlap on  each side (a total of 4”) to ensure light control and privacy.

Outside Mount: Fit the shade into the brackets and center the shade over the window (this may take two people). With a pencil mark the wall on the side of one bracket. Remove shade and then attach the one bracket with two screws. Next, insert the shade into the second bracket. Hold shade up and insert other end into the already mounted bracket making sure that the shade is level. Mark the wall on the side of the second bracket. Remove shade, install second bracket with two screws.

Step 6 Mounting your Shades

Inside Mount: The shades are to be attached to the window frame with the mounting brackets included. The brackets need to be placed so they will not interfere with the shade’s operating mechanism. Attach the brackets to the top of the window frame. Attach the brackets using the long screws provided, making sure the brackets are level with each other. Set the headrail on the brackets. Make sure the draw cords move freely around the mounting brackets. Attach the shade to the brackets using the short screws provided.

Step 7 Inserting the shade onto the installed brackets

With the brackets now installed, you may install your shade. Step A: Put the side of the tube where the fabric is rolled with the clutch that has the chain into the bracket with the slat. Step B: Once the clutch with the chain is in position, gently turn the opposite clutch so that the end recedes allowing you to place it in the bracket with the hole. Once the end is positioned in the hole let it go slowly and it will automatically lock itself into position. The clutch is spring loaded so for you to be able to remove it you must turn it to have the end recede and thus be able to release the shade. * Please note: Roller shades are not meant to be lowered past the ordered length. The shade will come with additional material that is automatically added in length to conceal the roller tube and to help secure the fabric on the roll. We have attached metal ball stops on the chain to prevent the shade from being raised or lowered past its limits.
